On Thursday, March 17th NAKED GIRLS READING NYC - New York's "Best Story Hour" (The Village Voice Best of NY 2010) - presents THE EMERALD ISLE, an all-new evening of in-the-buff readings of some of Ireland's greatest authors, in the decadent boudoir setting of Greenwich Village's Madame X lounge.Thursday, March 17 at 8:00 pm
Nasty Canasta is joined by burlesque superstars Sapphire Jones, Stormy Leather, Honi Harlow and RunAround Sue, as the Naked Girls kick off St. Patrick's Day in the traditional way: with gorgeous naked women reading from some of the best stories of the Emerald Isle ever written. Featured pieces will include classics by Oscar Wilde and James Joyce; selections from contemporary authors Desmond Hogan and Roddy Doyle; comedian Tony Hawks' travelogue Round Ireland With A Fridge; traditional folk tales and stories; and musings on the demon Drink by authors from Ireland and beyond.
Guests to the salon are invited to relax in the plush velvet upstairs lounge at Madame X and sip a cocktail as Nasty, Sapphire, Stormy, Sue and Honi celebrate the luck - and literature - of the Irish!
